Ngāti Manuhiri Settlement Trust Doors
Manufacture doors and frame for new headquarters of the Ngāti Manuhiri Settlement Trust in Warkworth
We were commissioned by Ngāti Manuhiri Settlement Trust to manufacture entrance doors for their new headquarters in Northland. They were to be 2200mm high, 1600mm wide overall and 100mm thick from solid Totara.
We collaborated with Te Puia, NZ Māori Arts & Crafts Institute, who did the carving on them. Once carved they were returned to us for finishing, polishing and fitting of hardware. The handles were fashioned from the rib bones of a whale.
